Still enjoying Camilla around...few problems...speedo, pump/overheating. freewheel not engauging, wiper motor probs...but nothing that I haven't been able to sort. This cold weather makes the old girl smoke (cars a 2-stroke) a lot, lot, lot more ...he..he Few annoyed looks from people who want to save the planet ...  humbug! |

Haven't been out in Camilla for quite a time but I think that I'll have to take off the head gasket soon as the coolant looks abit sludgey brown. The old girl is way down on power using a compression tester...infact two out of the three cylinders show about 30% down on power. Might have to have the block machined. This engine has been a bugger to time as there are no marks on the block to adjust the thing right. Usually these engines have three lines etched to attain correct timeing.

Should have done a follow up.....sorry chaps! I removed the cylinder head and found some corrosion which was allowing water to enter No1 cylinder. I sorted out a new head from my many spares and cleaned the block. All assembled and zoom! off she goes...for a 2 stroke like a bat out of hell  Well pleased. Camilla has been behaving herself and the wife and I have been putting around in her on many an occassion. GOD! I LOVE TWO STROKES...YOU'VE JUST GOTTA GET A WIFF OF THAT EXHAUST...TO MOTORHEADS-REAL HEAVEN. |
