At last I can report some progress! 
The restorer settled the dispute with the metal fabricators and recovered the car to his premises on Tuesday.
I went up there yesterday with Dave Mytocon to have a look. The body is on a rotisserie so they can finish off some welding jobs to the floor etc.
In the photos most of the parts in grey primer have been fabricated from scratch from sheet steel. Amazing workmanship, you cannot se the joins at all, it looks better than new.
I will add some more photos when Photobucket starts behaving itself. |

Update! The good news is that after preparation car has now been trailered to another company to be painted. The bad news is that the restorer has become very difficult to contact, not answering calls, texts or emails. When I did finally get a reply he demanded more money for "additional" work that was carried out last year.  |

Some more progress at last!
Interior and engine bay have now been painted in gold top coat.
I would post photos but I still cannot upload attachments, which is odd because I can on another Proboards forum.  |

Still can't upload photos, but painting almost finished - apparently.
The only way I know this is because I follow on Facebook the paint shop to whom the "restorers" have sub-contracted the work. The "restorers" never contact me - except when they want more money.
The body restoration and painting was supposed to take 8 months. It is now over 2 years... |

Ah yes.
I moaned at the "restorer" about the lack of communication and he didn't reply but obviously asked the paint shop to post some photos on Facebook.
I am trying to find out what has happened to the bonnet, boot lid, front valance etc. etc...
