Well what are peeps planning to do this year? Here's my "possibles" depending on weather/other things coming up which my prevent going
Start from May, there doesn't appear to be another Beds classic car show again (nothing organised in 2017 and was only every at Turvey House one year in 2016, never since) so I may do nothing........ or there's one in Northants called Rushden Cavalcade which I've never tried
20th May 2018 - There's the big Chiltern Hills Rally at Weedon again - usually always good
Whitsun Bank Holiday - I like Enfield Pageant but to be honest I can take it or leave it - and probably would miss it if its bad weather.
June 3rd - Vintage Stony Classic - went to this last year for the first time as I was bored with Santa Pod Ford do (and the autojumble and admission prices are getting to expensive and its a bit boy racer.....). I was able to park in one if the line ups by just turning up but pre booking is only prioritised for pre 1978 cars apparently.......... although I noticed many 80's cars allowed in.
June 10th - Good old Luton festival of Transport - have booked - can't very well not go to "The one everyone I know goes to......" - sounds like some of the former Popular Classicers are booked too
June 17th - Marsworth Steam & Classic Vehicle Rally Herts - Not been before but a mate went last year and really rated it. But Bromley Pageant is on the same day but I haven't been for 9 years.
June 24th - Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge railway show - Been 2 years now, getting bigger but I've done the railway once.
July 1st - Watford Classic car show - Bushey Sports Club, Aldenham Road, Bushey
July 8th - Cars in the Park Oak Hill Park Church Hill Road East Barnet
July 14th - Festival of the Unexceptional - I've booked in - yep! Been thinking about this one for a couple of years now.
July 15th - There's a couple that look good this day - Either the big Uxbridge one - (which I last went to 20 years ago!) and one in Wingfield, Beds I haven't tried yet
July 21st - Shefford Beds - Revs and Rythms - live band and classic, retro and Custom cars turning up - good turnout when I went in 2016, but skipped last year due to the weather -
July 25th - Classics on the Common - Harpenden - Wednesday night big do
August 1st - another Wednesday night do and Croxley Green, Herts
Knebworth House - August Bank Holiday - but other shows are one too same weekend like Wings and Wheels at Dunsfold Park
September 15th - Redbourn Classics show - went last year with B8R - Looks promising
September 22-23 - Sywell Classic - Pistons and Props -
That's potentially 16 shows in my area - the sort of thing I did when I was in my 20's but I'm lucky if I'll do half that!!
