Meet Gerald the Herald..... Hes a 1971 13/60 genuine factory convertible. Hes also a little scruffy..... It was restored about 20 years ago, and it now has a bit of "patina". Not too much rust, the chassis seems solid, and it runs well. Lack of use is evident though, its done less than 100 miles in the last 10 years. I more than doubled it in the first weekend, and we had a few "issues". Ive already rebuilt the carb and starter, and fitted a new throttle cable. A major service is required, and a top up of the rustproofing. Not sure if i will keep it long term, plan at the moment is just to enjoy it for the summer, then maybe move it on. I said that about the Dolomite though?

Scruffy must be a relative term- compared to my J-reg estate 18 years ago, that's practically concours!
Did the late convertibles get the steering lock? My estate was so equipped.

Quick update... Ive sold it! I just cant get on with convertibles..... It took me 7 years to realise that a convertible in the UK is somewhat pointless.
