Many..many interesting names on here albeit not for a few aeons . How did you arrive at your user name? Mine was by my stupid use of a keyboard. When I registered with the evil bay it came up with some suggested names to use. Lovegrace was one. For some reason I pressed the wrong key (even though I didn't want the stupid name)..I must of pressed too hard and it spelt out two 'L's i.e llovegrace... Now thats what I call a stutter . When I told '02Man' it kind of amused him and he pulled my leg many a time over it... told you I am an old git!
Any of you peeps got a story?

Mine is the nickname I was given by one of the bosses of a firm I worked at because he could never remember my proper name, it was the name of the firm I worked at previously, and I used it across most forums just in case anyone from that firm recognised it, (which they haven't), so they must be finished with cars.
PS I am also an old git.

It was the name of a garage business, so they made a lot of mess and noise for the neighbours....

I once had a 1974 Dolomite. Strictly speaking (though it was 1854cc) not a Dolomite 1850. That model didn't exist as such, then, there was only the Dolomite and the Dolomite Sprint.

eldritch is an old English word meaning weird, dark and poetic.
eldritch is also the name adopted by the singer of the sisters of mercy.
i adopted it as i like the sound of the word.
with me, eldritch is always spelt in lower case - a bit of an old joke.

Wow! How did I miss this... your forum name of eldritch...what a weirdly medieval darkly symbolic name...I think it's great! Makes my stuttering llovegrace seem quite pathetic

Yes, I used her as a daily driver for a couple of years until the tinworm caught up. I sold her to an enthusiastic couple who duly put her back on the road. According to DVLA she's still taxed and tested though the MoT history over the last few years has been "interesting".
These days I drive a 1970 S2A 109 Station Wagon, a real bitsa with 200Tdi, LT77 gearbox, replacement chassis and parabolic springs, a 2002 Skoda Fabia SDI aka "The Slug" on account of needing a calendar to measure acceleration and a 2015 Nissan Leaf as my daily.

Wow! a wee voice in the wilderness. Great to hear from another member afters such a long time. Auld Land Rovers are a favourite of mine and aye, I would buy one in a shot if I drove off-road. Auld 11ovegrace has a Skoda and he seems to like it even if he has got a dent in his wee bonnet. HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU's and a HAPPY NEW TIER!

Happy Christmas to you as well 'scottyboy' ....Stay safe & enjoy! Wee bonnet indeed...only when the next doors cat is on it (if only) Chris, having a bit of trouble with the Fabia ...Keeps showing that the drivers door is open even when it's not. Youtube reckons that it could be the wires that go between the door and the body. Apparently there is a VW inherent fault that the wires go brittle underneath the rubber gaiter and snap, thus shorting out. It also causes the alarm to sound if you don't do a certain proceedure in locking the car up....annoying, bloody annoying. And every now and then the dash sounds 'DING!' It will have to wait until the warmer lighter days come. Bet the 'Leaf' is fault free though. I must say Chris, that the Land Rover 109 sounds interesting...just looked it up on the net and never knew that was the designation. NICE!
