What a waste of polish...This so called Covid thingie has done us in for car shows this year. All those poor people that have fallen foul to this evil plight.
There is a small bead of light in my part of the woods...Edenbridge Classic Car Show (Gabriels Farm) are still leaving their options open for a September meeting. For the last 4/5 years it has been a 'second to none' event...500+ cars, Helicopter rides, Self drive 4x4 events, Good live music and all the other bits..food, fun-fair and stalls etc Hope they do it.

The Edenbridge car show has now moved to a new venue...GAYWOOD FARM, HOLE lane, EDENBRIDGE TN8 6SL on Sun 13th Sept 2020. It has always been a GREAT! show and well worth taking your 'pride&best' along.

As I'm only about 30/40 mins away I have gone and got a ticket for the show. Looking forward to it and showing the old vogue. A mate of mine swears by the show and how good they have been at the old site. Hope it lives up to its reputation. Boy, just love these smilies.

Look forward to seeing you there Rob...Please try to bring the Vogue...really want to see her. You will find me by the light grey (called pearl grey) Saab two stroke...chances are that it will be the only one at the show. You can look out for me...easy to spot as I'm old, grey, fat & ugly...always ugly but I wasn't always old p.s Have you read the john-saab blog on this forum? That's Camilla, now my motor. What the blog doesn't say is the Pat Moss connection with the car and the '62' Nairobi East African Rally. I tell you at the show (if you're interested but you might prefer ...in your words...''watching paint dry''

Intriguing, sounds like a plan then. Provision is that if its raining hard I'll still visit but not in the Vogue because the rear hatch type window leaks and I've got to match and replace the seal. If no Vogue I'll be in my mates red E-type slumming it

Looking forward to the show and meeting you Rob. Hope its dry because I really want to see the vogue. I sat in a saloon vogue last year at the Warlingham rugby classic car show and boy, was I impressed with the walnut facia, ribbon speedo and sheer quality of the engine bay, seats (bench type) etc. It is such a shame that Warlingham decided to cancel this year as it too is a great show 400-500 plus cars...Have to wait for next year.

Just got an email from the organisers telling me that they have refunded my money. Next year it will have to be then and it gives me time to obtain rubber seals for the rear hatch window on the tailgate of the Singer. Damn! I needed a show to keep me sane, oh well, The wife it will have to be then. p.s It's the wife with the hammer.

A few local shows have bummed out around these parts but I hear that local enthusiast clubs still hold meets so maybe that is the way to go in the meantime.

Talking to some guy yesterday who has a nice 2 tone Hillman Super-Minx 1600cc and he was telling me that all his mates are down in the dumps over show cancellations. He reckons that they are getting depressed big time. I must confess that I feel a lot lower than I should over not going to shows. I hear what scottyboy says about local car clubs but I never see their meets advertised around my parts. Is it that such clubs are on the decrease? Ho humm!

Could be but I more often than not see loads of classic motors always going the other way to me...too many to just be sight seeing. You are right Rob, I never see signs for club events...maybe I should go internet hunting for near or within reason club events. I wish I lived in Scotland as they seem to have many local Saab meets with great turn-outs...good for them but down south all I can do is dream Tell you what I do see though Too many of them...(trying really hard not to swear).
