Progressing well I feel - paint's coming off nicely Lots of bubbles on the surface, so I took those bits back to primer - probably going to go down to metal in the dodgier places, simply for peace of mind. It doesn't come off with thinners, as it's plastic based, so the schoool's orbital electric sander came in very handy - as did my amazing D&T teacher's (who's soon to finish his restoration of a Scimitar) knowhow. Slightly annoyed that some absolute TWAT has put several big scratches into it and then dented it in four places with a chunk of metal  Still, I'm sure he shouldn't have left his computer logged on - I hope he doesn't miss his coursework  Sorry for the awful picture.

Worth noting that this is from 2010, so I was all of 17...!

So... today's attempts: Spent a while trying to get the ball joint out "properly", using tips from Triumph dude mentioned above. Didn't work. Cheated and took it out by using the bolts. Can't get the one attached to what I think is the track rod end off at all. So. Before work started: One hour later: So I gave in and tried cooking instead....

Spent five minutes on it today, hopefully later I'll get the upright off. Caliper off - first, cover your brake master cylinder with cling film - this prevents air being drawn in and lessons the amount of fluid that comes out. Second, pick up your caliper and a 1/2" spanner. Remove the brake line, going "gosh, that was easy". Put welded-up bung into brake line, so that you lose very little fluid. (made for me by awesome triumph guy mentioned above ). Take a photo of how neat your tools are
