Ghia...very plush and I would have thought a much sort after motor. Gold/brown colour hmmmm ...Yup that works for me. If you put the pinto in the Capri will you retro fit the old engine back into the sierra?

If you put the pinto in the Capri will you retro fit the old engine back into the sierra? Probably not,it's in several bits scattered about the shed.
The Sierra will probably end up broken for spares if I do decide to remove the engine and box.

Hi 'junkyarddog' ... sorry, havent been around for a bit. Does seem a shame to scrap the Sierra but I understand your plight. Do you think that you will have to modify the engine to give the Capri more woomph? Looks like you have a good garage to do the work in.

No,I think I'll leave the engine stock,As always my budget is on the tight side
In other news my 205 passed it's test last week,so I'm pleased with that.

I'd love to get some miles up on it but fuel is gone hideously expensive, even if it does near enough 60mpg.
So I bought this at an autojumble........
1950's BSA bicycle
New tyres and a rub of an oily rag later and it's useable

The 205 looks a very neat and nice motor... Great colour too. I think that cars look better with mudflaps, It helps set them off. 60mpg isn't to be sniffed at either...Brilliant infact for the era of the car. I only get 40 out of my 2-stroke on a long run at around 50-60mph...mind you, she is 60 years young The BSA has got to be as rare as hens teeth...Boy, what a find! Does the tyre dynamo still work to power the front lamp? A real, what I would have called 'a sit up and beg' bike. The nearest that I got to it was a Dawes, Humber and Riley bikes way back in the early 60's (no not 1860's)

I'm not sure if the dynamo works as the lamps are very rusty, I'm going to keep an eye out at car boot sales as they sometimes crop up at them, needs a better saddle too. I saved the 205 in 2007 from going to the crusher,I had little interest in it so gifted it to a friend who promptly parked it in a hedge and forgot about it. About eight years later I repossessed it and returned it to the road. It's probably my favorite of all my cars.

Did quite a few KM's in my Honda Prelude today.
Went to an autojumble a journey of over two hours each way,you wouldn't think this car is over 30 years old!!

You certainly have some nice motors at your command Mr Junkyarddog...4 hours of quality motoring in cars that have soul...Give me the older cars anyday. Long way to go for an autojumble though...bet it was a good'n.
